Card conditions and pricing guidelines

At STAKATAK our aim is to get more decks built, and get more people into the games we trade in – not get the maximum sale out of every card.

We view our inventory as game tokens, less as collectors items. Nothing against set-complete collectors looking for pristine printings of each card, but that's not our primary sort of customer here. 

The following outline our policies around card conditions when it comes to our inventory and fulfilling orders, to keep prices listed prices at the lowest we can manage, and to ultimately move more cards.

We will always ship the best conditioned cards first.

If we have multiples of a card in stock and you order less than the total lot, we pledge to always ship you the best of our stack.

If you have a question about the condition of our stock in a particular card, you are more than encouraged to chat us up. Our operation is small enough that these checks aren't a problem at all, if you can spare us some time. Best way to facilitate that is to create or log in to our site with a Shopify account, build a cart with the cards you have interest in, and then ping us over chat.

Most listed inventory is NM (near mint) All listed inventory is at worst MP (moderately played).

 Sorting and adjusting our listed inventory levels based on specific grades would introduce too much friction in basically every process on our side; sorting, pricing, and picking for fulfillment. We instead list one price with assumed conditions.

We consider our 'typical' condition to comprise some 80% of our standing inventory in the games we trade in, so it'd be quite unusual to receive from us a card outside that condition (in either direction). Here's our game-specific guidelines:

If we need to fulfill your order using inventory that is in a worse condition than the 'typical' condition listed above, we will issue you additional store credit for each such card in your order, based on a reasonable markdown given general market conditions at the time of your order.
